Trondheim.com is an official gateway to the Greater Trondheim region, a city and a region rich in history, innovation, and culture. The website is designed to serve visitors and people moving to this region by providing up-to-date information on events, attractions, business, student life, public spaces, leisure activities, and the thriving cultural scene. We are also adding general information on the region, how to move and thrive here and some history.
Who we are
We are a collective effort of various stakeholders who share a passion for Trondheim’s growth and global presence. The initiative came from Trondheimsregionen (Greater Trondheim) - a public sector collaboration of eight municipalities (Trondheim, Malvik, Stjørdal, Indre Fosen, Melhus, Midtre Gauldal, Skaun and Orkland). By working together with businesses, interest groups, cultural institutions, the municipalities, and other local contributors, Trondheim.com serves as a hub for everything happening in the city.
Where other organizations already provide great information, we function as a portal and a guide for users to explore other sites and resources to best help them find information and enhance use and the spread of information resources already available.
In late 2024, Trondheim Municipality decided to withdraw from the Greater Trondheim collaboration, resulting in the disbanding of the Greater Trondheim Region partnership. The future management of Trondheim.com after April 1, 2025, is still to be determined.
